Dress up your Corvette with three easy tips!
Sometimes just a little "frosting" will really make a tired Corvette shine. After your usual wash and wax, try any or all of these tips and see how much better your car looks. These quick fixes will renew the vibrance of your daily driver or dress it up to make a sale.
Tip #1
The small, black bumperettes on 1975-79 Corvettes often fade to an unappealing gray or yellow. This can be easily remedied with some masking tape, masking paper and Mid America Motorworks' Black Reconditioning Paint. Clean the bumperettes to remove dirt and wax. Lightly sand the bumperettes with #600 wet/dry sandpaper, then mask off with tape and paper. Spray light coats of reconditioning paint onto the bumperettes. Let the paint partially dry between coats for best coverage. You may want to practice a few coats on cardboard to see the spray pattern. You may want to prime, but excellent results have been accomplished with just the paint. This is not a concours job, but will really clean up the front and rear view of your Corvette.
Tip #2
Now that your car's bumpers are up to par, they may make the grilles look a bit faded. 1973-1982 grilles may be dismounted with a Phillips screwdriver and the parking lenses masked off or removed. Now you can once again use yourtrusty can of Black Reconditioning Paint. This will give a very original-looking pair of grilles. Be sure to use several light coats to avoid runs. You may want to replace your screws with new ones if the present screws are rusted.
Tip #3
Rally wheels always tend to get abused and neglected to the point that the paint is ready to come off. You can easily remedy this with Mid America Motorworks' Argent Silver Rally Wheel Paint. Clean the surface of all rust and road grime, then use a Scotch Brite green pad to "rough" the surface up. Clean the wheels with an alcohol based product so no residue is left behind. After you have masked the tires off you are ready to paint using light coats. Remember 2 or 3 light coats will always look better than 1 heavy coat. Clean and wax your trim rings and center caps, and voila, your wheels look good as new!
These tips are not designed to get you a Gold Medal, but they will make your daily driver shine and might put a little extra green in your pocket come sale time!

Corvette Engraved Stainless Steel License Plate Frame $31.95 The Corvette Engraved Stainless Steel License Plate Frame uses solid stainless steel sheets as a base material for the frame, being that stainless steel is not porous, polishes well and doesn't rust. The frame will never rust or corrode and will look great for years. The Corvette logo is computer engraved with the factory font name for authenticity, are cut to maximum depth, and then hand painted with UV-rated permanent resins. Hand polishing further ensures that your frame will have a faultless appearance. The license plate is constructed using a "coined" manufacturing process, which unlike other frames, are "cast" brass, zinc or other metal, they vary in size, form, and finish, and often don't have tabs on the back bottom to secure them to the license plate. The Corvette Engraved Stainless Steel License Plate Frame has tabs on the back to secure your license plate. The license plate frame comes packaged with hardware and matching SnapCaps? anti-theft hardware caps. NOTE: The following states have laws requiring that the license plate frame not cover any of the state name on the license plate itself: Connecticut, Delaware, Georgia, Iowa, Kentucky, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Missouri, Oregon, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Washington.
