Cars and Their Owner's Personality
Summary:
Some wise man speculated that dogs and their owner's tend to look alike and that after time even wives and husbands start to look alike and act alike.
Is the car you drive a reflection of your personality? Does your car make a statement about who you really are? Are you and your car alike?
Article:
The good old four door Buick and Olds sedan? These are the traditional mom and pop cars--sort of Middle America. The dude or doll who drives one of these really boring cars is likely older, overweight, probably retired and grumpy. These are the drivers that usually have a lineup of traffic behind them on two lane roads and linger in the fast lane on four lane highways.
For some reason, only known to the secret Buick and Olds societies, these cars are incapable of breaking any speed limits. It seems they all have governors installed at the factory that keeps them at least five MPH below the posted speed limit. These drivers are completely aware of the potential road rage building behind and actually enjoy annoying other drivers and store clerks.
How about the familiar mini-van? Lord help those heading for mini-van heaven. That poor innocent young guy that loves go fast cars gets married, has kids and sports car is no longer a part of his dictionary. Nothing screams suburbia like a mini-van--any mini-van--American made or Japanese, doesn't matter.
Seldom do you see a red mini-van, never fly-yellow, maybe the odd black one--they normally come in silver grey, beige, or some facsimile thereof. Yes the drivers of these uninspiring vehicles are much like the vans themselves--utilitarian.
It's almost sad, how can anyone feel adventurous in a mini-van--next, when the need for a mini-van expires, comes the more modern version of a Buick--a Honda or Toyota mid-size sedan, they seem to have built in governors as well.
Corvette--now we get a little sporty. Do you remember that smart-Alec kid in high school--the short guy that had a massive ego and boat shoes? The guy you wanted to slap up the side of the head because he was so irritating, the self-proclaimed jock--yep, drives a Corvette--fly yellow.
The BMW--usually driven by the upper middle class, I'm going somewhere--not sure where, but somewhere--conservative, professional type--accountant, MBA, stock broker, junior executive, with it--cool, once identified as a yuppie.
Restored Muscle Cars and 1955, 56, 57 Chevys. These cars are found in abundance at auto auctions--Barrett Jackson for example. The cars are coveted by baby boomers who want to relive their youth and are prepared to spend big bucks to get their hands on these symbols of their early passions.
They have likely worked their butts off to get to where they are financially (the buyers often collect these things so they need to be rich), and they often show it--overweight, out of shape with luggage hanging under their eyes and a serious I know it all demeanor.
Ferrari--the boy toy, favorite choice for a mid-life crisis. The most prized comes as a red drop top with tan interior that screams I want to be seen by everyone. Have you noticed that they don't seem to see you when you give them a thumbs up at a stoplight. They already know that their ride is way cool--and so are they.
The pick me up truck. Once the sole domain of macho, beer drinking, blue collar workers (still is), the guys who risk their mutt's life by having it ride in the bed, has become popular with the middle class--a sort of I'm one of you statement. Lincoln even makes a luxury yuppie version of this traditional workhorse.
The Mercedes sedan is coveted by the very rich--Asians, Lawyers and drug dealers because it gives an air of respectability and a subtle, "yes I am rich, so there."
And to finish off this short piece, flower children and surfer dudes from the sixties and seventies still drive those agitating slow moving VW vans, it suits their personalities and makes some sort of statement--maybe you know what the statement is

Chevrolet Corvette O $66.91 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Chevrolet Corvette ois the third generation of the sports car produced by the Chevrolet division of General Motors. The owas introduced for the 1968 model year and ended production in 1982. Corvette chief Zora ArkusDuntov wanted a striking new Corvette; although engines and chassis components were mostly carried over from the previous generation, its body and interior were new.
